Katerina Siniakova vs Elena Rybakina

The overall prize pool is $251,750 (€203,024), an increase of 7.02% over the previous year.

In addition to 280 ranking points, Portoroz winner Katerina Siniakova will also receive a check for €26,770, an increase of 13.68% over the amount distributed in 2021.

On Sunday, Katerina Siniakova defeated third seed and reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina to win the Zavarovalnica Sava Portoroz Championship in one of the longest finals of the year. 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 6-4.

In 3 hours and 6 minutes, Czech Siniakova defeated Kazakhstan’s Rybakina, rallying after a set and a break behind to win her third career singles championship. Siniakova won her last two singles titles in 2017 in Shenzhen and Bastad, but this is her first since then.

Rybakina took an early 5-0 lead, but Siniakova showed early on that she was ready to fight back by pushing the first set to a tiebreaker. Rybakina managed to claim four of the last five points in the first set tiebreaker, however, thanks to a winning streak.

At 4-3 in the second set, Siniakova fell behind with a break, but the Czech player broke straight away, forcing the set to a tie-break once again. This time, Siniakova took an early lead and won her third set point by converting it, forcing a wide comeback from Rybakina to tie the game.

In the deciding game, Rybakina canceled out a break Siniakova had made early on, but the Czech regained the lead with a second break to make it 5-4. After a wide forehand from Rybakina, Siniakova, who was serving for the match, reached her first championship point and ultimately won the match and the trophy.

Tereza Mihalkova/Cristina Bucsa versus Tereza Martincova/Marta Kostyuk

Defending champions Anna Kalinskaya and Tereza Mihalková withdrew from the competition before it started. Mihalková paired Cristina Bucşa, but the duo lost to Marta Kostyuk and Tereza Martincová in the league match, 6-4, 6-0. This was the first WTA Tour doubles victory for Kostyuk and Martincová.
