Second company announced for former St. Joe Police Station

ST. JOSEPH — A second deal has now been announced for the former St. Joseph Fire Hall and Police Station.

Building owner Shannon Wigger said White Peony Shop signed a lease for the northern half of this space next to Home.

White Peony and WR Home put on amazing events and so to be able to have these two businesses run by these women in St. Joe is truly amazing. They attract a lot of people and they really combine well with the other businesses in town.

Wiger says the space will have an industrial warehouse feel with large windows and large garage doors to provide indoor and outdoor spaces. She also plans to build a patio on the sidewalk in front of the two windows.

White Peony hopes to be open in its new location by the end of September. This will be their second location, Wiger says they are also keeping their original location, which is on Gregory Park Road in St. Cloud.

Wiger also owns the early 1900s house and shed on the property just north of this building.

She says she plans to demolish the shed and replace it with a similar-looking building.

I work with a group that plans to do wine and cocktails, and potentially juice and coffee, in the back and have the courtyard be an event space, a place where there can be music and other backyard stuff that works well with White Peony and WR Home.

Wiger says she wants to retain the original integrity of the home and eventually build a salon or spa there.

It could be a salon/spa. I speak with a few groups who are also interested in this space.

The aim is to make it a vibrant development that works well with events, food, music and great shopping.

She says she also wants to keep the integrity of the yard and the trees. There is no start date for this project yet.

Across the street at the corner of Ash and 1st Avenue, Wiger also owns this home which is currently being converted into two professional services businesses due to open early next year .

In July, two other new businesses opened in a renovated house owned by Wiger, K Power Yoga and Eating Elevated. Ms. Wiger says all of these new businesses in St. Joseph are owned by women.

All of Wiger’s projects are designed and developed by his development and design company, Shannon Wigger & Co.
